Driving Miss Lady

So Lady is a wonderful dog. We love her very much, and usually she's pretty well behaved. The exception is when we're about to go on a trip. Every time we start bringing bags out to the car, she goes completely nuts. Every. Single. Time. And, of course, it makes no sense. We never leave her behind, she's always taken care of wherever we go, and we always bring her back home at he end.
Now, that's where I'm starting to worry about our wee pup. She keeps seeing more and more things go into boxes, and pretty soon, the whole apartment will be ready to go. We're completely packing up Saturday morning. What is going to go through her mind for the rest of the day we'll spend in our empty apartment?
She's already started moping around and making  terribly desperate looking faces at us. It's happening again, she thinks to herself, they're going to leave me, just like they almost did all those times before. She sits in her kennel voluntarily and stares at us, sometimes whining or whimpering. We take her out, but that doesn't calm her down. She has food, water, a soft, clean bed, and she's well groomed. This misery is self-inflicted.
See? She travels well in the car.
And I know she'll eventually get in the car and calm down/fall asleep, but the big unknown is, what's going to happen when we get to our new apartment? And at what point will she realize, or will she realize, that this is her new home? This might be really strange for her.
She's just so stressed out right now. And no amount of petting and comforting is doing any good. So basically, she's a weird dog, and this next week should be pretty interesting.
